Import of Encrypted Data#

Import of Encrypted Data is a tool for mass adding confidential information from XLSX files to your accounts in Afina. Unlike regular import, this method automatically encrypts each field using the AES-256-CBC algorithm, creating a secure container inside the profile.

Location: the "Encrypted Data" section is available in the left navigation panel under the "Automation" section.

Available features:

  • upload an XLSX template to prepare data
  • import filled XLSX files through the system window or by dragging and dropping
  • preview imported rows in a preview table before saving
  • upload another file for a new import
  • store data in an encrypted vault tied to accounts

Action Download Template#

The Download Template button allows you to get an XLSX file sample with the required column structure. The template is used as a basis for data preparation: it needs to be filled with account identifiers and values that need to be saved in the encrypted vault.

File Upload Area#

This area is intended for adding a filled XLSX file. You can select a document through the system window or simply drag it into the upload area. After selecting the file, imported rows are immediately displayed in the preview table.

If the structure of the XLSX file does not match the expected format or column names have been changed, the import will be blocked with an error message.

Import Actions Panel#

The panel activates after successfully uploading the file. It contains a Search field for filtering rows in the preview table, as well as a Upload Another File button to fully replace the current import with a new document. The final Save Data button records the prepared values in the secure vault.

Data Preview Table#

The table displays the content of your file before saving. Columns correspond to the headers in the uploaded document. Pay special attention to the Account Name column, which is responsible for correctly linking rows to profiles.

The key should only contain Latin letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, and underscores — without spaces and special characters. Empty fields are not saved, and the Save Data button remains inactive until all rows are correctly filled.

Account Name Column#

The column is used to link encrypted data to a specific account. Afina automatically retrieves the profile name based on the value from the AccountID field. If automatic linking does not work, open the dropdown Select Account and manually choose the necessary account.

Save Data Button#

This action saves the imported values in the encrypted vault. The button remains inactive until the mandatory condition is met — linking all rows to accounts in the corresponding column. After saving, the data becomes available in the account actions menu under Encrypted Data.

Before saving, make sure to check alignment on the grid and overlay in the preview table. This is necessary for the system to correctly align windows and display data accurately.
