Import Additional Data#
The "Additional Data" section is designed to import an XLSX file with additional account attributes. Imported values are stored locally in Afina and can be used in scripts and modules as additional account keys.
Location: the "Additional Data" section is available in the left navigation panel in the "Automation" section group.
Available actions:
- download the XLSX template
- import a filled XLSX file
- preview imported rows in a table
- sort or search for specific rows
- upload another file for a new import
- save imported additional data
"Download template" action#
The "Download template" action downloads a sample XLSX file with the required structure for importing additional data. The template is used as a basis for preparing the table before uploading it to the section.
Upon clicking, the XLSX template is downloaded, which needs to be filled with account data and additional key values.
File upload area#
The File upload area is used to add the filled XLSX file. The file can be selected via a system window or dragged and dropped into the upload area.
After selecting the file, the imported rows are displayed in the preview table. If the XLSX file structure does not match the expected format, the import is blocked with an error.
Import actions panel#
The Import actions panel appears after uploading the XLSX file. It contains the "Search..." field, the "Save data" button, and the "Upload another file" button.
The "Search..." field filters the rows in the preview table. The "Upload another file" button allows replacing the current file with a new import. The "Save data" button writes the prepared values to the accounts.
Data preview table#
The Data preview table shows the content of the XLSX file after uploading. The table displays columns with names corresponding to the headers in the uploaded file, as well as the "Account name" column to link rows to accounts.
Before saving, you can preview the imported rows, sort them by columns, and check if the data structure is displayed correctly.
"Account name" column#
The "Account name" column is used to link each row of imported data to a specific account. Afina can automatically pull the account into this column using the value from the "AccountID" service field if the account name is specified in the file.
If the account is not pulled automatically or you need to change the linkage manually, open the "Select account" dropdown list in the cell of the "Account name" column. After opening the list, you can use the "Search..." field and select the required account.
After selecting a value, the row gets linked to the account. This allows you to correctly map additional values to the account before saving.
"Upload another file" button#
The "Upload another file" button is used to replace the current XLSX file with a new import. Clicking it opens the system file selection window.
After confirming the new file, the current preview is replaced with the results of the new upload.
"Save data" button#
The "Save data" button writes the imported values to the accounts as additional data. It remains inactive until the mandatory conditions for saving are met, in particular, linking rows to accounts in the "Account name" column.
After clicking, the data is saved locally in Afina and becomes available in the account via the "Additional data" option in the account actions menu.
If the XLSX file has an invalid format or an incorrect structure, the import is blocked with an error message.
