Tab "Additional"#
Tab "Additional" - a section in the window "Basic Settings of Afina" that combines auxiliary browser operation parameters. Here you can configure the proxy check service, browser behavior after closing, additional Chromium launch arguments, and bookmark import.
Location: access to the section is through the gear icon in the top right corner, item "Basic Settings of Afina", tab "Additional".
Available actions:
- choose a proxy check service
- configure the browser opening behavior after closing
- enter additional Chromium launch arguments
- import bookmarks from an HTML file.
Proxy Check#
Proxy Check - a selection block of an external service that Afina uses during proxy check in the interface. Two options are available: ip-api.com and ipinfo.io; only one option can be active at a time.
If an error occurs during the check of a working proxy or when starting the browser - simply change the check service. This often solves the problem.
Browser Opening Behavior#
Browser Opening Behavior after Closing determines in which state Afina Browser will open during the next launch. Three options are available: Restore Session, New Tab.
How to choose the opening mode:
- Find the block "Browser Opening Behavior after Closing".
- Choose one of the options: Restore Session, New Tab.
- Click Save.
After saving, the browser will apply the selected mode for each subsequent launch. The "New Tab" mode always opens an empty tab. The "Restore Session" mode opens the addresses specified in the "Startup Pages" field during the first account launch, and works as usual for all subsequent launches - restoring your previously opened tabs.
Startup Pages#
Startup Pages - a block for setting up a list of web addresses that will automatically open when the browser launches. Each link is added as a separate line with its own management tools.
How to manage startup pages:
- Adding: Click the + Add button. In the new field, enter the required address (URL) and click the ✅ icon on the right to save, or ❌ to cancel.
- Editing: Hover over the saved link and click the pencil icon to change the address.
- Deleting: Hover over the row and click the trash can icon to remove the link from the list.
- Sorting: Press the icon with three horizontal lines (on the right) and drag the row up or down to change the order in which tabs will open.
Remember the logic: if the "Restore Session" mode is selected in the block above, the startup pages specified here will open only during the first account launch.
Launch Arguments#
Launch Arguments - a text field for entering additional command line parameters passed to Chromium during startup. Intended for experienced users who consciously apply advanced browser launch parameters.
Enter the necessary arguments in the field and click Save.
Incorrect arguments may affect the browser's stability. Use only those parameters you are confident in.
Upload Bookmarks File#
Upload Bookmarks File - a button to import a bookmarks HTML file into the system. After uploading, Afina uses this file as a source of bookmarks for profiles.
How to upload bookmarks file:
- Click Upload Bookmarks File (.html).
- In the system dialog, select the required HTML bookmarks file.
- Click Save.
The uploaded bookmarks file applies only to new profiles. Bookmarks manually added in existing profiles are stored independently of the uploaded file. If you upload a new file, all previously uploaded bookmarks in all profiles will be replaced with new ones.
